May I please begin by saying that "the brothers Luna" are very lucky to have such a cool last name. If they were werewolves or astronomers or astronauts it would be even more perfect. I feel silly that I am without a crafty way to tie it in to their profession as comic creators. (Let me know if you think of any.)
Girls: Conception is an exceptional graphic novel. I am going to try and summarize the main plot in one sentence, here it goes:
Zombies invade a small town and they try to kill everyone.
Wait, that's not right... Here let me try again:
Zombies Naked Chicks invade a small town and they try to kill everyone all the women.
My first impression of the story was as follows, "well thats one way to sell comic books." But as I read, the power and value of the story began to shine through. The tale drips with human emotion as some wish to slay these women, others wish to protect them, and all are generally confused by their motives. One of the most chilling panels in the entire comic is watching five identical women hatching from eggs in the bathroom of the protagonist. Yeah, its as weird as it sounds. Fear and apprehension moved in my bowels as one strange naked lady became many identical strange naked ladies with lusty desires and questionable motives. There are a few more trades after this, so I do not know all of the details but I have a few guesses as to what is going to occur.
1) The chicks are going to seduce tons of the village men
2) They are going to lay tons of eggs
3) The eggs are going to hatch more psycho women
4) The psycho women are going to kill all the female villagers
Its a strange take on a 'zombie' model comic, because in the zombie comics- NO ONE wants to get bitten. But in this comic, there are plenty of men that want to get laid. Don't buy this comic if you are wanting to see a bunch of boobs, its not like that (it actually is very tasteful), and they only imply the fornication that happens, you aren't going to see any of the graphic details. (pervs). But I probably wouldn't take this one to work, cause you are likely going to draw a lot of strange attention simply from the cover and the title.
I invite all you gentlemen out there to make the choice: Your wife/mom/sister/daughter or a hot alien chick? You decide.
